New Baby Brother {Huntsville Lifestyle Photography}

One question I ask in my pre-session questionnaire: What would you like to remember about this time in your lives? One of the things this mama mentioned was the craziness - that life isn't picture perfect and she wanted to remember that. That really stuck with me and I knew this was going to be a fun session. I love to capture "real life" moments like these - it's what inspires me. lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0102.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0088.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0087.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0092.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0098.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0096.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0097.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0093.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0094.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0100.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0101.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0099.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0091.jpg lifestyle_newborn_photography_huntsville_alabama_0090.jpg

Impressions {the other side of the lens}

Believe it or not I'm really really bad about taking personal photos during the holidays so surprisingly my December "Impressions" post isn't holiday related at all. Besides the professional family photos we have taken every year, I like to stay behind the lens. I'm rarely "camera-ready" and feel lucky if I get a shower and my teeth brushed. But it hit me recently that one day my children will look back on all the candid photos I take of them and wonder "Where's Mom??". SO I forced myself to set up my camera the best I could and take a few snapshots of us with my wireless remote. They're not perfect at all - the focus is off, my son isn't wearing pants, and my hair is sloppy, but my kids won't care about that when they look at these photos 20 years from now. s_lifestyle_family_photography_huntsville_al_0098.jpg

Impressions {a personal project}

‘Impressions‘ is a creative project by an eclectic group of female photographers from around the globe. We aim to share the inspiration behind what we do through our monthly posts. On the 8th of each month, we will be sharing images that tell the story of what inspired us in the previous weeks: our families, nature, weather, or maybe even work itself! We are free to explore the meaning of ‘impressions’, and it is likely to change month to month. I missed last month's post because I was busy with a newborn so I'm cheating a little bit and going to share more starting with my little girl's birth.

Family Session Part 2: Bath Fun

Here's part 2 from this summer session. When the splash pad downtown just didn't work out for some wet summer fun, we decided to have some bubble bath fun instead.. And it was my favorite part! I just love how simple and genuine these photos are - just 2 sweet girls having fun in the tub and on Mommmy and Daddy's bed. ♥
