Heartstrings
Lately I’ve wanted to take newborn sessions in a new direction and involve the parents much more than before. And I’ve LOVED the results! I want parents to have the best of both worlds – lifestyle family photos and individual photos of their newborn. Photos of newborns are so wonderful but there’s just something about a lifestyle photo of mom, dad, and baby that just grabs my heartstrings. I know the last thing some mothers want to do is be in front of a camera after giving birth but I really don’t think it would be regrettable in the end when you can go back and look at precious photos of you and your fresh baby sharing a moment together.
Warning: These photos involve a beautiful mother (with gorgeous hair I might add) who just gave birth but looks like she never did. Try not to hate her too much – she can’t help it!

The sweet baby…
Little Big Things
It’s amazing how the smallest details can hold such a huge place in your heart. Little baby eyelashes, little baby lips, and little baby spit bubbles – I’m taking every little inch of him in.
Every good and perfect gift is from above…
God’s backdrop.
God’s lighting.
And God’s sweet gift to us.

Twin Boys!!!
I was so excited to have the opportunity to photograph twins again!! I’ve only photographed twins twice and maybe I’ve just gotten lucky but in both cases they slept so good and at the same time!!

Hannah
Meet my baby cousin… well she’s my cousin’s baby… does that make her my second cousin? I don’t know!
All I know is she is absolutely adorable!! And I just love her squishy little cheeks!

Emma
Unfortunately this newborn session landed right smack in the middle of the power outage we had from the tornadoes. We decided to go ahead and get a short session in during the power outage and then finish up when life returned to normal. She must have been good luck because the power came back on for these parents and at my home that day!
This little girl was the most alert newborn I’ve photographed and I was loving all the eye contact she was giving me! Isn’t she just gorgeous!? I think I’ll put her on my list of potential girlfriends for my Elijah when she gets to date in 30 years.

2011 Baby
This was my first newborn session of the new year. In fact, it was my very first photo session of the year. And what a great way to start 2011!
Nothing makes a newborn session better than an adorable big sister. And I have to brag on this 3-year old – she was SOO cooperative for the sibling shots. It doesn’t always work out that way.

Two Little Miracles
This session was actually my last session of 2010. I just got a little too busy with the business changes and being pregnant
to blog it until now. This was my first session with twins and I was prepared for the worst. It requires a lot of time and patience to get just ONE baby asleep for pictures so I was a little nervous to be honest. But to my surprise they fell right asleep… BOTH of them! And let me pose them however I wanted!!! These two were a dream to work with!
By the way, I actually found out I was pregnant the night this session occurred! I guess they’re my little good luck charms.
